Network Cabling Technician

We are seeking an energetic and trustworthy Field Technician for the Harrisburg Capitol region and surrounding areas.

The Field Technician’s purpose is to attain a high level of customer satisfaction through successful onsite delivery of projects and service support.

As a Field Technician you will install, configure, and troubleshoot systems that include Network Cabling Infrastructure, Audio-Video, Surveillance, Access Control, Cell Phone Signal boosting, and other Low Voltage Systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

Install low voltage cable through different types of ceiling and wall structures, to include CAT 6 cable, multimode & single-mode fiber optic cable, outside plant copper & fiber cable.

Install and work with CCTV/Video Surveillance systems, Access Control, Audio-Video, Cell Phone Signal Boosting, and other Low Voltage Systems.

Act as the liaison to the customer and other construction trades.

Track the material and man-hours used on the project.

Report daily job progress to the project manager.

Maintain quality workmanship.

Qualifications

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Interpersonal skills such as telephone communication skills, active listening, and customer care.

Knowledge of reading construction documents (i.e. drawings & specifications).

Knowledge of EIA/TIA 568A Standards and NEC Standards as they relate to the installation of low voltage cabling.

Ability to climb and work from 10-foot ladders as well as larger extension ladders.

Ability to work in different environments including office, warehouse, manufacturing, and construction sites.

Ability to work with power tools such as drills and reciprocating saws.

Ability to work autonomously.

Ability to work well with other employees in a team environment.

Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Have reliable transportation.
