Commerical Electricians

Electrician Requirements:

- Must have 3-5 years experience

- Must be able to operate large pipe bending tools, both hydraulic or mechanical benders

- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, and other components

- Trace out short circuits in wiring, using test meter

- Install EMT conduit (run and bend)

- Install receptacles and switches

- Hang and wire light fixtures

- Examine electrical units for loose connections and broken insulation and tighten connections, using hand tools

- Strip insulation from wire ends, using wiring stripping pliers and attach wires to terminals for subsequent soldering

- Thread conduit ends, connect couplings, fabricate and secure conduit support brackets using hand tools

- Connect circuits and breakers

- Replace fuses and fuse boxes

- Operate scissor lift

- Read/interpret blue prints

Helper Requirements:

- At least 2 years of experience

- Bend/run pipe and pull wire

General Requirements For Both Positions:

- Must be able to measure, cut and bend wire and conduit, using, measuring instruments and hand tools

- Position involves lifting, digging, climbing, drilling, cutting, clean up installations

- Perform semi-skilled and unskilled labor groups duties related to installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment

- Disassemble defective electrical equipment, using hand tools

- Must be able to operate all electrical hand tools

- Drill holes and pull wires

/cable through walls and ceilings

- Transport tools, materials, equipment and supplies on site by hand or hand truck

- Practice job safety

- Clean license

- Reliable transportation
