At AGCO, you will gain valuable practical experience that will really help you get ahead.AGCO is in search of a passionate and analytical Business Analytics Intern to join our team at the AGCO Acceleration Center, located in the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Research Park, a key part of our AgTech hub. This role is integral to our Farmer First strategy, utilizing advanced data science techniques to drive actionable insights that support our agricultural community.Your Impact

Apply statistical modeling and machine learning techniques to large datasets to predict trends and outcomes within the AgTech industry.

Work closely with cross-functional teams to define problem statements, extract relevant data, and implement models that address complex business challenges.

Present data-driven insights and recommendations to stakeholders and product owners to support strategic initiatives.

Engage in the continual improvement of prediction models by incorporating feedback and adjusting approaches based on performance.

Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in data science, machine learning algorithms, and their applications in agriculture.

Your Experience and QualificationsRequired

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and turn it into actionable insights.

Preferred

Strong proficiency in statistical analysis and model development using Python or R.

Practical experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and data manipulation tools.

Familiarity with the agricultural technology sector and its key challenges is advantageous.

Experience in applying data science techniques in real-world agricultural settings or similar industries.

Previous internship or project experience that demonstrates your ability to apply data science methodologies effectively.

Proficiency in using cloud computing platforms, such as AWS, to deploy data models and perform large-scale data analysis.

Strong communication skills to clearly articulate complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

A demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and applying new technologies and data science approaches in the field of AgTech.

Your WorkplaceThis is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2024 onsite at the AGCO Acceleration Center in the University of Illinois’ Research Park.
