Prep Cook- Senior Meals

Employment type: 30-40 hours per week.

We are looking for a cook who has experience in volume meal production, strong knife skills, salad and sandwich making experience, ability to work quickly and efficiently to support the chef. We are a provider of senior meal services-a team of foodies, looking to round out the team with a qualified culinary professional who is experienced in quantity food service. While earning steady, regular income, you will be part of a passionate team serves the local senior community! Early morning hours provide a whole afternoon to do other things, besides work Share with us your background, special skills and experience by sending resume or work history in an email.

Hours- Variable starting between 5:00 am to 7 am and ending between 1:00 and 2:30, depending upon assigned shift. Monday-Friday and two Sundays per month (hours may vary, but generally early morning to early afternoon)

Pay- 21.00-25.00/hour

Job Duties include:

Assisting cooks and/or cooking meal including protein, vegetables, rice and soups. Knife skills to work with protein

and vegetables. Cutting, chopping, slicing require strong knife skills, other duties as needed by Cooks.

Ensuring ingredients are tagged, date-labeled, covered, stored, and rotated effectively.

Maintaining food safety standards and following protocols and procedures precisely.

Utilizing kitchen and food production equipment to process ingredients.

Disassembling, cleaning, and proper storage and maintenance of equipment.

Assisting with clean up and other duties as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Experience in cooking western, Asian and comfort foods ( meats, poultry, veg, starch/grain, soup)

Excellent knife skills in prep of produce, meats and fish.

Prep experience in volume production kitchens with sense of urgency and organization

Able to bend, stoop and work standing for long periods of time.

Ability to use various kitchen tools and equipment.

Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.

Have a neat, clean appearance, with work appropriate hygiene and grooming habits.

Food Safety Handlers required
