the girl & the fig CATERS! in Sonoma is currently seeking an experienced Assistant Pastry Chef to join our team.
We are a restaurant group with multiple locations in the Sonoma Valley, which includes the girl & the fig in Sonoma, the fig café in Glen Ellen, the girl & the fig CATERS!, Suite D, and our FIGfood product line. Assistant Pastry Chefs assist in providing excellent quality, consistency, and presentation of all pastries, cakes, and desserts for guests in the restaurant and catered events
Essential Duties:
Assist in production for restaurant locations, including desserts, ice cream, and breads.
Assist in production and decoration of custom cake orders.
Prepare and decorate a variety of goods, such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread, etc.
Develop customized cakes and baked goods for weddings and special events
Qualifications:
Must have at least two years of applicable experience
Ability to provide or complete CA Food Handler certification and renew as necessary
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, recipe books, and procedural manuals
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 50lbs and regularly move items between 10-20lbs
Ability to stand for long periods of time
An acute sense of taste and smell

Morning schedule
This is an Assistant Pastry Chef II position. The hourly wage range for this position is: $21.50 to $28.00
Starting wage is dependent on experience and qualifications
Potential for growth into Assistant Pastry Chef III and/or Pastry Chef
