As a Senior Database Administrator supporting the Federal Aviation Administration Office of Security and Hazardous Materials in the Washington DC, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on Senior Database Administrator joining our team to help maintain and administrator database environment.FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION:

Designs, implements, and maintains full life cycle of complex databases including Tables, Views, Stored procedures, indexes, functions, jobs, rules and roles, replications, and other database objects.

Understands and maintains database interaction with other mission critical systems.

Manages or develops databases with respect to the operating system, access methods, and access time.

Creates or maintains database clustering.

Provides highly technical expertise in the use of database management systems.

Defines file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures for specific user applications

Conducts device allocation, validation checks, organization, and statistical methods.

Maintains database dictionaries. Integrates systems through database design.

Works in collaboration with Development and Engineering teams.

Evaluates and recommends available database management products and services.

Follows database standards and plays quality assurance role.

PLEASE NOTE: VISA SPONSORSHIP WILL NOT BE PROVIDED FOR THIS POSITION.WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: BA/BS in Technical, Engineering or Management field. Master’s degree can be substituted as 4 years of experience.

Desired Certification: Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert / MCSE (Business Intelligence and / or Data Platform) certification is desired.

Experience: Ten years of technical experience, of which includes at least five years of specialized experience in SQL Server database administration.

Technical skills: Experience in supporting MS SQL server 2016, 2019 or later versions.

Security clearance level : FAA Specific Clearance or suitability (Comparable to Public Trust)

Skills and abilities: Good communication, problem solving, and a learning mindset is desired.

Location : DC metro area - either onsite at the Federal Aviation Administration in Washington, DC or at one of GDIT's properties in Northern VA or suburban MD.

The likely salary range for this position is $154,960 - $207,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
