This Job follows the Missouri State University academic calendar. Typically it is 35-40 hours per week. 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Thursday. 8:00 am - 1:30 on Friday.

Plans weekly menus that balance the preferences of the residents;

Takes inventory, places weekly food and supply orders;

Prepares high quality food in accordance with pertinent safety and health regulations, guidelines and standards;

Maintains equipment and cooking areas to ensure safety and sanitation requirements and keeps kitchen clean and orderly.

Ensures necessary supplies, equipment and help is available during lunch and dinner Monday - Thursday and brunch on Friday;

Follows sanitation and universal precautions to preserve food quality and prevent the transmission of food borne illness. Has a ServSafe certificate or be willing to get one.

Must be able to lift 25 pounds.

The ideal candidate will:

Have the ability to develop positive working relationship;

Have the ability to maintain a professional appearance at all times;

Have at least one year of commercial cooking experience;

Have a ServSake certificate or be willing to get one.

Have reliable transportation and pass a background check.
