Flexible schedule is a must! Our locations may call us out at any given moment and it is essential that we can service them in an emergency situation. Some late nights or early mornings are par for the course.

LabMetrics is a leading service provider specializing in the certification and repair of biological safety cabinets, laminar flow hoods, fume hoods, and clean rooms. The company also offers training and testing of pharmacy employees in aseptic techniques to ensure compliance and safety. Recently, LabMetrics has expanded its services to include terminal cleaning, further enhancing its comprehensive support for laboratory environments.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role as a Field Service Technician/Environmental Monitoring Technician located in the Greater Chicago Area. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing certifications, repairs, and maintenance for laboratory equipment such as biological safety cabinets, fume hoods, and clean rooms. The technician will also assist with environmental monitoring, conduct health and safety inspections, and support terminal cleaning operations as needed.

Qualifications

Familiarity with Health & Safety protocols and practices, including Workplace Safety and Occupational Health, EHS.

Strong communication skills, including the ability to convey information clearly and effectively

Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe and clean working environment

Ability to work independently and provide excellent on-site customer service

Willingness to travel locally within the Greater Chicago Area for on-site visits

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications or related experience in environmental monitoring or laboratory equipment maintenance is a plus
